There is no support whatsoever for these builds.

Linux Mac/OSX MS/Windows Static Analysis Build Dependencies

 

These are automatic builds of the Ardour Digital Audio Workstation (latest git developer version) intended for testing only. They are created every 24 hours, usually in the early morning UTC but the actual time varies. See Ardour Git Log for recent changes.

Full-featured (non-free) versions are provided as service to subscribers. Use your ardour.org credentials to identify yourself for download.

GNU/Linux

Linux builds are compatible with any platform GNU/Linux releases since circa 2016 (glibc ≥ 3.4.21). Builds are available for 64bit Intel systems, as well as ARM (32bit Raspberry Pi) and 64bit ARM systems. Requires X11.

Download the .run installer and launch it.
One way to accomplish this is in a terminal: sh Ardour_<version>.run (substitute version).
The alternative is to use a file-browser, right-click on the downloaded file, select properties, checkbox: allow execution. Then double-click to run the installer [first time linux README].

Linux versions can be installed in parallel including alongside distribution packages. They are installed to /opt/Ardour-version/ (Note: The installer will ask to run an uninstaller, answer "no" if you wish to keep older versions alongside the new one ).

MacOS

MacOS Intel builds are compatible with ≥ 10.11 (El Capitan and later), ARM64/M1 builds require ≥ macOS 11.0 (BigSur or later).
Simply drag the Ardour.app and the video monitor Jadeo.app to the /Applications folder

Compatible with Windows 7 and any later version.
The Windows installer will replace the current version.
Note: The application is not digitally signed. If you are running Windows 11 and receive a message about "Ardour is not commonly downloaded", please read these instructions.
Note: If Ardour did not exit cleanly, uninstalling or replacing an existing installation will fail to replace font-files included with ardour. You can ignore this or fix it by rebooting the system.

♭ Free/Demo (gratis) Version - fully featured except it will periodically go silent. Builds without that restriction are available to subscribers.

♯ Debug Version - Includes debug-symbols suitable for creating proper bug-reports (GNU/Linux, Windows: gdb backtrace; OSX: crash reports; Note: the Windows installer includes gdb). See Debugging Ardour for more information.
